Day-Ahead NCPC

What is Day-Ahead NCPC?

Net Commitment Period Compensation (NCPC) is the "make whole" payment to an eligible generator and/or external transaction that did not recover its offered costs from the Energy Market during an operating day. NCPC is determined by comparing the participant's energy offer costs with its actual revenue from the market for the day. Day-Ahead NCPC is calculated for resources scheduled by ISO New England in the Day-Ahead Market. If the resource does not fully recover its Day-Ahead offer costs through the Day-Ahead Energy Market, a Day-Ahead NCPC payment will provide the cost recovery. Self-Scheduled generation is not eligible for NCPC. The complete set of rules for NCPC eligibility is detailed in Market Rule 1, Appendix F.
