As part of a continued commitment to review and improve the performance of Gaussian Mixture Model, the ISO has identified an opportunity to enhance the accuracy of the forecasts by using additional available pricing information. In particular, the ISO is planning to use Massachusetts Hub day-ahead energy futures prices from Intercontinental Exchange. The details of the updated framework are described in the Incorporating Electricity Futures into DAAS Forecasts Memo.
Beginning with the August 2026 monthly memo and effective for the August 1, 2026, Operating Day, ISO New England will publish the hourly adjustment scalers used to perform the ICE electricity futures update described in the memo.
