Registration by Market Activity or Services Sought

Entities that produce, buy, sell, or transport wholesale electricity in the region must register for participation in New England’s suite of wholesale electricity markets.

Requirements depend on intended market activity or services sought from ISO New England.
Your registration eligibility also affects your organization’s voting rights within the New England Power Pool (NEPOOL), the voluntary association of market participants in the region. See the Membership FAQs for details.

New Participant Registration

Are you new to the ISO and interested in initiating any market activity or ISO service other that those listed separately on this page? These include:

Full Forward Capacity Market (FCM) participation—not just a show of interest
Financial Transmission Rights (FTRs) transactions
Energy Market participation
Provision of ancillary services (reserves, regulation, etc.)

If so, you must register as a new participant.

Forward Capacity Market (FCM) Show of Interest (SOI)

See the FCM Participation Guide for details on the FCM. The first step in qualifying a new power resource is submitting an SOI and qualification package information via the Forward Capacity Tracking System (FCTS).

If you would like FCTS access without registering as a market participant, submit a FCM Non-Market Participant Registration Request.
