ISO New England is committed to making our corporate website and Standard Market Design (SMD) Applications easily accessible and consistent across supported browsers and platforms. Because it is not always possible or practical for us to fully test and validate our corporate website and SMD Applications using every available operating system and browser combination, we have implemented the following policies to ensure that we support the majority of our users:
Resolving browser issues:
Note: This policy does not apply to ISO New England Standard Market Design (SMD) Applications.
The ISO attempts to minimize browser-support issues by following three best practices:
To successfully interact with our websites and services, your browser must meet the following requirements:
To maximize our ability to successfully support our customers’ needs, the ISO uses statistical data from web visitors and registered users, rather than generic industry data, to identify the browsers used by our target audience. We regularly review this data to determine which browsers to support. Browsers that have been developed to comply with the W3C guidelines and specifications, but not including mobile browsers, should operate successfully. For the best user experience, the ISO recommends using the latest version of a browser that meets these general requirements.
For the corporate website we support:
We invest time and resources to ensure that our corporate website applications are consistent across each supported browser/platform combination. Minor differences in appearance such as differences in font anti-aliasing (or lack thereof) and coloring (e.g., 24-bit versus 32-bit color) might be experienced, but these differences should not impact application functionality.
Note: This policy does not apply to the ISO’s corporate website.
To successfully interact with our websites and services, your browser must meet the following requirements:
To maximize our ability to successfully support our customers’ needs, the ISO uses the predominant office platforms and browsers found at most utility industry businesses. We regularly review this data to determine which browsers to support.
Across all SMD applications we support:
Microsoft ended support of Internet Explorer on June 15, 2022. Participants are encouraged to use Chromium-based Microsoft Edge or Google Chrome.
We invest time and resources to ensure that our SMD applications work with each supported browser. Other browsers might also work, but we do not attempt to resolve problems with browser other than those listed above.
Older Internet Explorer browser versions (such as IE11 for Windows 7, IE10 and lower) and other browsers (such as Mozilla Firefox) may work with a subset of the applications. However, we do not support older browser versions or other browsers for SMD applications.
New versions of web browsers provide better security and standardization. To promote support of the newer versions of web browsers for our SMD Applications, the ISO is committed to ensuring web browsers are patched and up to date for security purposes.
Access to the ISO’s corporate website and SMD Applications are subject to the applicable Terms and Conditions of use. The ISO shall have no liability to you based on your use of or reliance on a particular web browser to access the ISO’s SMD Applications.
