The ISO-NE Interconnection Heatmap is provided to prospective Interconnection Customers as a convenience and for informational purposes only. This ISO-NE heatmap is consistent with the requirements of FERC Order No. 2023 and Section 6 of Schedules 22, 23, and 25 of the ISO’s Open Access Transmission Tariff.
The ISO-NE Interconnection Heatmap data reflects a high-level, general overview of potential capacity injection capability at potential Points of Interconnection on the ISO-NE Administered Transmission System. It only represents N-1 load flow impacts for the specific point in time when data was compiled, and does not reflect all potential system conditions, including but not limited to other thermal, voltage, fault duty, stability, and electromagnetic transient conditions, nor does it account for the full list of projects that may be included in Interconnection Studies to evaluate an Interconnection Request, such studies necessary to determine the feasibility of, or need for upgrades for, a given interconnection configuration. The ISO-NE heatmap also does not account for Affected System impacts or provide real-time transmission information. The feasibility of a project’s proposed interconnection and the need for any related upgrades are identified through Interconnection Studies performed according to the ISO-NE Open Access Transmission Tariff (including its Interconnection Procedures). The ISO-NE Interconnection Heatmap should not be relied upon for arriving at any official determinations regarding the feasibility of a proposed project.
The ISO-NE Interconnection Heatmap is provided on an “AS IS” basis, with all faults and defects and without warranty of any kind. ISO-NE, to the fullest extent permitted by law, disclaims all warranties, either express or implied, statutory or otherwise, including but not limited to the implied warranties of merchantability, non-infringement of third parties' rights, and fitness for particular purpose. Without limiting the foregoing, ISO-NE makes no representation or warranty, expressed or implied, regarding the accuracy, adequacy, completeness, reliability, or usefulness of any results or information provided through the heatmap tool. ISO-NE disclaims all liability of any kind to the user or any third party regarding any reliance or any actions taken or not taken by a potential Interconnection Customer based on the results of the heatmap tool.
The results do not constitute an offer or an agreement for Interconnection Service on the ISO-NE Administered Transmission System. The ISO-NE Interconnection Heatmap does not replace an Interconnection Study performed according to the ISO-NE Open Access Transmission Tariff (including its Interconnection Procedures). Any potential Interconnection Customer must submit a request in accordance with the ISO-NE Open Access Transmission Tariff (including its Interconnection Procedures) to obtain Interconnection Service or Transmission Service.
ISO-NE is making the ISO-NE Interconnection Heatmap available in furtherance of its exempt purpose of lessening the burdens of government by, among other activities, ensuring the efficient use and reliable operation of the electricity transmission system. Users will not use or distribute the ISO-NE heatmap tool: (i) in a manner inconsistent with this exempt purpose; (ii) in violation of any law, regulation, or rule; or (iii) in any way that is or is likely to be detrimental to ISO-NE or to the operation of the electricity transmission system. ISO-NE reserves and shall retain its entire right, title, and interest in and to the ISO-NE heatmap tool, including all intellectual property rights arising out of or relating to the ISO-NE heatmap tool.
