What is PowerGads?
PowerGADS is a web-based, Generator-Availability Data System (GADS) data-reporting application developed by Integ Enterprise Consulting Inc. ISO New England uses PowerGADS to give market participants a fast and convenient way to submit GADS data to the ISO. In turn, the ISO can generate availability reports, as well as submit GADS data to the North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC), as requested by participants.

When is a participant’s data submission considered finalized?
- Data is considered submitted when all months have passed a Level 2 Validation (i.e. the process of conducting the final error checks).
- The Level 2 Validation Status tool allows participants to view the validation status of multiple units over multiple months. The tool shows which units have received Level 2 validation and verifies that all months are validated.

What is the process for adding a new unit to a user’s account and reporting responsibilities?
- First, the security administrator for the new unit must send a request to ISO Participant Support requesting that the unit be added to the user’s account. The email should include the following information:
- User’s first and last names
- User’s full email address
- Information about the units for which the user should have access, including ISO New England asset ID, unit name, and NERC GADS utility and unit codes
- Second, the user must add the new unit to his or her home system. To avoid the risk of the home system overwriting existing data in PowerGADS, the home system must know the last event number used in the ISO’s PowerGADS. The user must acquire the last event number from PowerGADS and begin numbering the new events in the home system with a number that’s one higher than what already exists in the ISO’s PowerGADS.
For example: A user became responsible for Unit 123 beginning May 1. Events #1 to #50 were reported to ISO New England PowerGADS for January through April. The user’s home system must begin the event numbering for May with #51 to avoid overwriting existing data in the ISO’s PowerGADS.
