Below, affected ISO customers can learn more about changes to existing systems or procedures related to the Streamline Asset Registration – Relationship Management (SAR – RM). This project was one of several that ISO New England has undertaken, in collaboration with stakeholders, for the continued development of the region’s wholesale electricity markets.
See Participant Readiness Project Outlook for more detail on specifically affected customers and systems for this and other major projects.
ISO New England developed a new module in the Customer and Asset Management System (CAMS) for lead market participants and owners of registered asset related demand, generation, and load assets to view asset data on record and submit ownership changes.
The former process involved the use of paper forms which were manually completed and submitted by creating an Ask ISO issue and uploading the forms. For assets owned by multiple participants, the forms were signed by several parties to approve any changes before they are submitted. The forms were then reviewed by ISO personnel for appropriate signers and correct data elements, and the data was then entered into ISO systems via manual data entry, which introduced the possibility for errors.
The new CAMS module streamlines processes for asset registration by:
Phase 1 (June 28, 2016): add asset registration tab to CAMS and allow participants to submit ownership transfers
Phase 2 (July 11, 2017): add meter reader and lead market participant relationships data for viewing only
Phase 3
Affected market participants were required to take specific steps or adapt to changes in ISO Systems, as described below and should be mindful of additional time-bound items, some of which may require customers to take specific steps or adapt to changes in ISO systems after the project implementation date.
