Below, affected ISO customers can learn more about changes to systems or procedures related to the Update EES Technical Architecture Project. This project is one of several that ISO New England has undertaken, in collaboration with stakeholders, for the continued development of the region’s wholesale electricity markets.

Implemented: October 23, 2019
The existing EES software was replaced with a new application for customers to submit external transactions and assign subaccounts in response to customer survey feedback and the availability of newer technology. The EES system relied on Java applet architecture, which was replaced to improve system performance and address cybersecurity vulnerabilities. The new application was named the New England External Transaction Tool (NEXTT), and it provides many benefits. The NEXTT application:
Affected market participants were required to take specific steps or adapt to changes in ISO Systems, as described below and should be mindful of the following time-bound items, some of which may require customers to take specific steps or adapt to changes in ISO systems both before and after the project implementation date.
